Washoe County School District Trustees to Consider Major Bond Measure and Property Deal

Reno, NV, October 12, 2026 — The Washoe County School District Trustees are scheduled to convene for a meeting where they will deliberate on significant financial proposals. At the forefront of their agenda is a proposed $164 million bond measure intended to fund much-needed school improvements across the district. Additionally, trustees will consider a $46 million property transaction.

The potential $164 million bond measure aims to address various facility needs and upgrades within the district’s schools. Specific details regarding the scope of these improvements, such as which schools would benefit and the types of projects to be undertaken, were not immediately available. The funding from this bond would be critical for modernizing infrastructure, enhancing educational resources, and potentially expanding capacity in response to student population growth.

Parallel to the bond measure discussion, the district is also evaluating a substantial property deal valued at $46 million. The nature of this property deal, including its purpose, location, and whether it involves acquisition or disposition, has not been disclosed. Such transactions often play a crucial role in the district’s long-term planning for facilities and operational efficiency.

The upcoming meeting provides a platform for the trustees to review the financial implications and strategic importance of both the bond measure and the property deal. The outcomes of these considerations will shape future investments in the district’s educational environment and its physical assets. Further information regarding the meeting agenda and the specifics of the proposals is expected to be made public by the district.
