Mercury Legacy co-founders Dr. Maria Azzurra Missinato and Joseph Mubanga have announced a new three-part live webinar series examining retirement planning, wealth protection, market risk, financial fees and taxes for busy professionals.
The free series begins September 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific, followed by sessions on September 29 and October 6. The webinars are intended to encourage professionals to examine assumptions about how wealth is accumulated, protected and ultimately used during retirement.
The first session will focus on market risk and the role that timing can play for professionals approaching retirement. Later sessions will examine recurring financial fees and assumptions surrounding taxation in retirement. The three-part schedule and topics are confirmed in Mercury Legacy’s promotional materials.

Dr. Maria Azzurra Missinato’s interest in the subject developed partly from her own experience in biotechnology. After earning a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and spending more than 15 years in scientific research, she experienced a decline of more than $200,000 in the value of her stocks in less than one week. That experience led her to examine the distinction between accumulating wealth and protecting assets from risks that may become increasingly significant as retirement approaches.
The webinar series also examines a question raised in Mercury Legacy’s retirement-planning framework: how market recovery can affect individuals differently depending on when a decline occurs. The company’s first webinar distinguishes between a professional who has decades remaining to accumulate assets and someone approaching retirement who may soon need to begin withdrawals.
“The purpose is not to provide a one-size-fits-all answer,” said Joseph Mubanga, Co-Founder and CEO of Mercury Legacy. “The purpose is to encourage people to understand what their current financial strategy is designed to do, what it may not be designed to do, and which questions deserve a closer look,” added Joseph Mubanga.
