Centerview Partners, a premier independent investment-banking advisory firm, announced today that Bennett Schachter has joined as a Partner in New York to lead and further expand its Capital Advisory offering.
Mr. Schachter comes to Centerview with decades of public and private capital-markets experience across equity, equity-linked, credit, structured products and alternative-capital solutions. His addition will further enhance Centerview’s broad range of Capital Advisory capabilities and strategic financing advice.
“Centerview’s track record of advising on complex, industry-defining deals puts us in an ideal position to help clients successfully navigate a rapidly evolving financing environment,” said Centerview co-founder Robert Pruzan. “We have always thrived in times of change and uncertainty and are confident Bennett will further deepen our ability to offer clients unmatched intellectual capital and bespoke advice.”
“As capital flows across the globe become more strategic in nature, our full suite of unconflicted capital solutions is an increasingly important pillar of Centerview’s differentiated offering,” said Centerview co-founder Blair Effron. “With his broad and diverse capital-markets experience, Bennett will help take our already-formidable Capital Advisory team to the next level. We’re delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
Prior to joining Centerview, Mr. Schachter worked at Elliott Management Corporation, where he was responsible for the firm’s capital-markets and financing-solutions efforts; Morgan Stanley, where he was global head of the firm’s Alternative and Capital Solutions businesses; and Goldman Sachs, where he held various leadership positions in the firm’s Capital Markets division, including head of Global Alternative Capital Solutions, head of Equity Syndicate and head of Global Equity-Linked Solutions. He also worked in the Convertible Bonds and Derivatives and Institutional Equities groups in Goldman’s Securities division.
“Having worked closely with Centerview in various capacities, I have seen first-hand how talented its teams are and how deep its relationships run,” said Mr. Schachter. “The ability to offer impartial, creative and authoritative advice across the gamut of increasingly complex financial markets allows the firm to service its formidable roster of clients even more effectively through corporate and market cycles, and I am incredibly excited to be part of it.”
