SOL DE JANEIRO EARNS B CORP™ CERTIFICATION, DEEPENING ITS COMMITMENT TO PEOPLE AND PLANET
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026
The milestone comes during Climate Week NYC as the brand advances its commitment to responsible growth and continuous improvement in its social and environmental performance
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Sol de Janeiro, Inc., the global beauty company that transformed the fragrance mist into a cultural phenomenon, today announced that it has achieved B Corp™ Certification, joining a global community of companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
The certification marks an important milestone in Sol de Janeiro’s evolution and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to building a responsible business as it continues its global growth. As part of L’OCCITANE Group, which recently achieved B Corp™ recertification under B Lab™’s new Standards, Sol de Janeiro has achieved B Corp Certification for the first time under Version 1.6 of B Lab’s standards. Its certification marks continued progress across the Group’s portfolio and its broader commitment to advancing social and environmental performance across its businesses.
“Achieving B Corp Certification is a meaningful milestone for Sol de Janeiro and a testament to the work happening across our entire organization,” said Jordan Saxemard, Chief Executive Officer of Sol de Janeiro, Inc. “Since joining the company, I’ve been impressed by the priority placed on growing responsibly while staying true to our values. This certification gives us an important framework to continue challenging ourselves, measuring our progress and finding new ways to continuously improve our social and environmental performance as we grow.”
Sol de Janeiro certified under Version 1.6 of the B Impact Assessment, which assesses a company’s impact across areas including workers, community, environment, customers and governance. As part of the certification process, Sol de Janeiro demonstrated particular strength across its people-focused practices, including employee engagement and diversity and inclusion—areas that have long been central to the company’s culture and approach to business. The certification also provides a framework for the company to continue measuring its impact and evolving its environmental and social practices.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Sol de Janeiro to the B Corp community. As a global beauty company with a strong connection to its consumers and community, Sol de Janeiro has an opportunity to demonstrate how purpose can be embedded across a business. When companies of this scale commit to measuring and improving their impact, the effects can extend across workers, supply chains and communities. We look forward to seeing Sol de Janeiro continue to build on this work as part of the B Corp movement,” said João Campos, Manager, Large Company Growth at B Lab U.S. & Canada.
The milestone comes during Climate Week NYC, where Sol de Janeiro leadership is joining global conversations around responsible business and sustainable growth. Earlier this week, Saxemard represented L’OCCITANE Group at the UN Private Sector Forum’s CEO Lunch at United Nations Headquarters, alongside UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Sanda Ojiambo, CEO of the United Nations Global Compact, and global business leaders, while Chopin Rabin, SVP, Global Communications & Consumer Engagement, will participate in a FrenchFounders fireside conversation focused on balancing business growth with a continued commitment to sustainability and positive impact.
Beyond its operations, Sol de Janeiro is putting these values into action through the Sol de Janeiro Foundation by supporting communities and ecosystems at the heart of its mission. Established in 2024, the Foundation is centered on two core pillars: the regeneration and conservation of biodiversity and the empowerment of young women worldwide. With several millions already committed since its founding, it supports 13 partner organizations working on community-rooted, long-term initiatives—from protecting and restoring Brazil’s Atlantic and Amazon Rainforests to expanding access to clean water, education and opportunity for young women around the world.
For Sol de Janeiro, becoming a B Corp is not an endpoint, but the beginning of an ongoing journey of continuous improvement, ensuring that as the company grows, its positive impact grows alongside it.
